 The Handiende Culture
« Thread Started on Nov 2, 2005, 8:46pm »

We need to change ourselves first before we become good leaders and good politicians. Our minds are still lagging behind in many aspects. This HANDIENDE CULTURE should be done away with.It is damaging ourselves to the extent that we will always remain at the bottom of other races.

It's not only politicians who don't want to release what they have grabbed.Even church leaders are culprits of this dangerous habit .You see them fighting over positions of power in church. Is it about power or is it about praying to God?I wonder.

More to that, in our households.A husband tells his wife that he doesn't love her anymore for whatever reasons, she tells baba that she is not going anywhere.Achagarira vana vake.Is it about love or kugarira vana vake?Mukumbura's wife just died of disease cause she ended up ava kugarira chirwere instead of vana vake.

Ok what I'm say is we were brought up in a culture of handiende ,so much that when we become leaders/politicinas our reasoning is still affected by the way we were brought up.I'm telling you today that as long as we don't change ourselves first we are going to spend the rest of our lives punching our key boards communicating online about politicains who don't want to release power.

The cshool curriculum should teach children to learn to share ,love others ,and give others the opportunty to do what they have failed to do.That way they will grow up to be good leaders /politicians.

That said some of the political problems we are facing today are a result of our ancestors' failure to teach us some of the most important aspects of life.So we might have to feel pity for this grandfather of ours who doesn't want to release power, and understand that it could be the way he was brought up that is affecting the way he is behaving now.

You give not because you have more than enough but because someone doesn't have enough.

Viomak, i do buy your sentiments on the "Handiende Culture" this is the route cause of our current suffering and unless we address this issue from the grassroots we are going to remain a Handiene Sydrome society...Brothers and sisters if things are not moving ahead lets learn to accept defeat and open the platform for the nearest advisor to share with you his or her ideas...they could prove very fruitful and progressive suggestions....let us wash the adheresive substance that makes us GLUED to our political seats and and family boss-ship
